Caramel Apples....


    I'm headed up to our Coffee and Sweet Shop this afternoon loaded with an ooey gooey batch of old fashioned caramel apples topped off with fresh roasted peanuts.   
     My mother used to make the most amazing caramel apples right about this time almost every year.  She always let us kids pop the sticks in the apples and then help dip them in the mouth watering caramel she'd melted over the stove in our big silver kettle.
      Every time I make them, even to this very day, I'm instantly drawn back to the many Autumn afternoons of my childhood where a creamy caramel apple was made even sweeter by time spent in the kitchen with my mom...
